President Bola Tinubu has been encouraged by Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa to attend the team’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match in Ivory Coast against Cameroon.

During the Super Eagles’ Zoom meeting with Sen. John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, on Wednesday, Musa spoke on behalf of the players.

“We have a message that we are going to send to the president, Enoh,” he declared.

“We want him to come here [to the Ivory Coast] and support us together instead of watching the game on TV anymore.” Here is our personal message to the President, then.

“The president will come,” said the minister of sports in response. I promise that the president will arrive. He has given me his preferred time of arrival, and I hope that we will eventually reach a stage where the President is able to make his visit. He’ll show up. The president will arrive, I promise.

“In the end, we truly appreciate your words of encouragement to the team, thank you,” Musa stated.
