As Pep Guardiol prepares Man City for another Premier League title challenge, the team will look to bolster in the summer.

According to rumors, Manchester City wants to re-sign Pedro Porro and Douglas Luiz in the summer, which means they will have to spend a high price to do so.Although they anticipate a quiet last two weeks of the January transfer window, City will still need to make squad improvements in order to contend for another title. There will be a lot of attention paid to right-back and central midfield, as Kalvin Phillips is expected to go this month or at the end of the season, and Kyle Walker becomes 34 in May.And now, according to Football Insider, Pep Guardiola may try to entice two former Blues back to the Etihad, but at a price. According to reports, Tottenham and Aston Villa are bidding up to £100 million for Porro and Luiz, respectively, significantly more than what City originally sold them for.

Porro, who has been outstanding for Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou this season, is reportedly the subject of a “strong interest” from those in control at the Etihad. The right-back was acquired by City in 2019 from sister team Girona; however, in 2022, following stints on loan at Real Valladolid and Sporting Lisbon, he was sold to the latter for a pittance of £7.2 million.

Although Porro thrived in the Portuguese city and Sporting made a tidy profit when Tottenham approved his £42 million acquisition of him a year ago, the 24-year-old’s value has only increased. This season, he has seven Premier League assists, and under Postecoglou, he is becoming an expert in Guardiola’s preferred inverted full-back role.
