Enrique believes that players don’t leave PSG unless their contracts expire or the team decides to sell them.

In the summer transfer window, Bayern Munich would still very much like to try to sign a defensive midfield player, even though Thomas Tuchel will be departing the team at the end of this season. Tuchel was a big supporter of the team’s attempts to sign one both in the summer and the winter before, but they were unable to do so and had to turn to defenders in the winter as a result of the team’s accumulating injuries.

João Palhinha, a midfielder for Fulham FC and Portugal, eluded Tuchel and Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window, as the deal fell through in the final moments. Though he ended up signing a contract extension with Fulham shortly after the Premier League season began, he was Tuchel’s primary target. He fulfills every requirement Tuchel had for the center of Bayern’s midfield.

According to reports from last week, Marquinhos of Brazil, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, is a player that Bayern is closely monitoring. He is a player that Tuchel had experience working with at PSG and has the ideal profile for what the team would be searching for. Even without Tuchel, the club might still pursue him, but doing so would need Bayern to pay a significant transfer fee. The Brazilian has a contract that expires in June 2028, and he hasn’t publicly indicated that he wants to leave PSG.

In addition, Luis Enrique shot down Bayern’s interest in his main midfield player, implying that he doesn’t think players leave the current Ligue 1 winners unless they choose to or until their contracts expire. “I avoid discussing transfers. In the past, not many players have left PSG. The departing individuals are either off contract or the club is looking to sell them. That, in my opinion, isn’t the case with Marquinhos. However, clubs are forced by the new financial regulations to constantly buy and sell. Marquinhos is a good player in my opinion; he consistently delivers and is crucial to our team, the manager recently said.

The new manager of Bayern may have an impact on whether or not they pursue Marquinhos in a more serious manner. It has been revealed that Tuchel actively pursued offers for both Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich to depart the team during the summer. However, the incoming manager may want both players to be integral to their plans and may choose to employ Kimmich or Aleksandar Pavlović as the starting No. 6.
